It handles complex tasks end-to-end, operating continuously to scale expertise and reduce human coordination. Unlike traditional AI, which focuses on pattern recognition, and generative AI, which creates content, agentic AI is goal-oriented, decomposing complex goals into sub-tasks and revising plans as conditions change. It operates with defined objectives, evaluating progress and choosing actions independently. Agentic AI systems orchestrate three layers: Large Language Models (LLMs) for reasoning and planning, machine learning algorithms for prediction and optimization, and autonomous agents for control and execution.
